BeeCoin™
BeeCoin™ is the collaborative value and digital exchange system of the Lesser Open Bee License 1.3 ecosystem.
It provides a transparent and ethical way to reward, record, and redistribute intellectual contributions made across the open engineering projects coordinated by Technoplane SAS — including Bee-Plane™, ISO-Plane™, and Mini-Bee™.

What Is BeeCoin?
BeeCoin is not a cryptocurrency in the traditional sense — it is a collaborative credit and royalty token designed to support
open innovation within the Collaborative Bee Ecosystem.
Every time a participant, university, or company contributes a validated deliverable (model, report, dataset, simulation, or design) under the Lesser Open Bee License, a record of this contribution can be registered and rewarded through BeeCoin.
This system creates a digital memory of value across academic and industrial contributions — allowing transparent traceability of who created what, when, and how it was reused or improved.
🧭 Key Principles
- Transparency: every technical or educational contribution can be registered as a traceable token of effort or knowledge.
- Fairness: contributors receive proportional recognition and, when applicable, royalty shares for derivative industrial use.
- Collaboration: BeeCoin promotes collective ownership of innovation rather than private monopolization of results.
- Education: students and researchers can document and certify their open-source engineering work for career or academic credit.

How It Works
BeeCoin operates as an internal token system managed by the Coordinator (Technoplane SAS) under the rules of the Lesser Open Bee License 1.3.
It represents a measurable contribution to an open engineering task and can later be converted into audit credits, collaboration points, or royalty shares when the corresponding project enters industrial use.
- Contribution: a university team, partner, or individual contributes a design, model, or report to an open Bee project.
- Verification: the Coordinator validates the contribution (technical quality, license compliance, originality).
- Attribution: a BeeCoin record is created, referencing the contributor(s) and the deliverable (with TRL stage and project metadata).
- Royalty Tracking: if the result leads to a licensed industrial product, BeeCoin records are used to calculate proportional royalties as defined by the Lesser Open Bee License (typically 7% of production costs).
All transactions are recorded in a secure distributed ledger, ensuring integrity and transparency without financial speculation or volatility.
🔍 The BeeCoin Ledger
The BeeCoin ledger serves as a public and auditable registry of open engineering results.
It does not use blockchain mining or cryptocurrencies — instead, it relies on licensed project data validation performed by the Coordinator and academic auditors.
Each BeeCoin token includes metadata such as:
- Contributor(s) name or institution
- Associated project (Bee-Plane™, ISO-Plane™, Mini-Bee™, GPS 4D…)
- TRL level of the contribution
- Date and validation audit ID
- Link to the associated public deliverable (Wiki, GitHub, or report)
BeeCoin and the Lesser Open Bee License
Under the Lesser Open Bee License 1.3, all participants working on an open-source task are entitled to recognition and royalties when their work contributes to commercial results.
BeeCoin was created as the digital trace and proof mechanism for this process, ensuring:
- Fair redistribution of royalties (default 7%) between participants and the Coordinator.
- Proof of authorship and intellectual traceability across collaborative deliverables.
- Compatibility with academic evaluation systems (credits, research metrics, or open badges).

Applications in the Collaborative Bee Ecosystem
BeeCoin is actively used across all Bee-licensed projects to track, document, and balance collaborative engineering work:
- Bee-Plane™: records contributions to aerodynamic, structural, and modular design studies.
- ISO-Plane™: tracks container lift system simulations and carbon footprint analysis.
- Mini-Bee™: logs hybrid propulsion models, flight control algorithms, and test data.
- GPS 4D: certifies software development and optimization code contributions.
Each recorded BeeCoin entry forms part of the collective technical heritage of the Open Bee community and remains publicly accessible for transparency and educational reuse.
Benefits for Universities and Industrial Partners
BeeCoin provides a concrete tool for universities and industries collaborating under the Open Bee framework:
- Academic Credit: students receive validated recognition of their technical work under a licensed open project.
- Industrial Trust: companies can identify verified, traceable contributions for reuse in future designs.
- Open Compliance: ensures each deliverable properly cites and complies with the Lesser Open Bee License.
- Collaborative Funding: royalties and partnership funds are redistributed transparently to contributors.
Future Vision
The long-term goal of BeeCoin is to create a global open-value ecosystem for sustainable engineering collaboration.
In future versions, BeeCoin will integrate with academic digital credentials (such as OpenBadges or EU Digital Credentials) and industrial traceability systems (ISO/IEC 17025 compliant audit structures).
This ensures that every contribution — from a single student’s simulation to a consortium’s validated prototype — leaves a measurable, fair, and permanent trace of value.

Ethics and Sustainability
BeeCoin is fully aligned with the ethical standards of the Lesser Open Bee License and the open-collaboration commitment of the Collaborative Bee Ecosystem.
It does not promote speculative trading but focuses on knowledge value, transparency, and sustainability.
Every BeeCoin record helps ensure that the contributions made by students, engineers, and researchers are acknowledged and preserved for future generations.
“BeeCoin is not about money — it is about memory, fairness, and recognition within open engineering.”
